The Jinx Season 2 will premiere a six-episode on HBO and Max in 2024, with director Andrew Jarecki revealing fresh details about the real estate heir-turned-convicted murderer.
The documentary series, which had its beginnings as a limited series, began airing in the year 2015. HBO has announced that it would begin airing «The Jinx: Season 2,» a continuation of the Emmy Award–winning documentary show, in the year 2024.
In the original series «The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst,» Durst was notoriously caught on camera saying «killed them all, of course,» which contributed to his conviction for murder.
Following the release of an official press announcement just a few hours earlier, Durst was taken into custody in the lobby of a hotel in New Orleans on the basis of evidence found by the filmmakers.
The filmmakers of «The Jinx: Season 2» continued their research for the following eight years, during which time they discovered previously undiscovered information, Durst's prison calls, and interviews with individuals who had never before come forward with their stories.
The sequel series is currently in development and will premiere in 2024. The trailblazing series «unraveled one of the most notorious unsolved crimes in New York history» and had been in the works for decades.
The show was nominated for six Emmys and won two of them, including “Outstanding Documentary for Nonfiction Series” and “Outstanding Picture Editing for Nonfiction Programming”.
Durst, who came from a wealthy real estate family, was convicted of murdering Susan Berman in 2000. Durst was prosecuted in Los Angeles in 2020; pleaded not guilty to the crime, and Berman was found dead in late 2000 from a gunshot wound to the back of her head.
