ChatGPT, on Friday fired CEO Sam Altman after its board «lost confidence in his leadership abilities».
OpenAI announced that chief technology officer Mira Murati will step in as interim CEO.
After Altman's ouster, president Greg Brockman also left the company.

OpenAI’s board of directors include chief scientist Ilya Sutskever, Quora chief executive Adam D’Angelo, tech entrepreneur Tasha McCauley, and Helen Toner, director of strategy and foundational research grants at Georgetown University's Center for Security and Emerging Technology.
«Altman's departure follows a thorough review process by the board, concluding that he was not consistently transparent in his communications, hindering the board's ability to fulfill its responsibilities. The board no longer has confidence in his ability to continue leading OpenAI,» the company said in its blog.
Altman’s ouster followed wide-ranging disagreements between the CEO and his board — in particular Sutskever, according to Bloomberg.

The debates included differences of opinion on AI safety, the speed of development of the technology and the commercialization of the company.
A month ago, Sutskever’s responsibilities at the company were reduced, reflecting friction with Altman and Brockman.
