Chirag Paswan is among the most popular faces around in Parliament, with the media and visitors reaching out to him. The Cabinet minister, who acted in a movie with Mandi MP Kangana Ranaut as his heroine, is also arguably the most eligible single person in the Narendra Modi government. This factor has been a talking point among the chatterati in Parliament precincts. He, however, appears to have no plans to change his status.
Light on tea, high on work
During high tea with central government secretaries over the weekend, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is learnt to have kept it light, even quipping how he ruined their near three-month 'holiday' period, when model code was in force, with 100-day agenda work. He, however, did not forget to remind them that they must ensure it is implemented on time.
Over-activism of new convert
BJP MPs Neeraj Shekhar and Surendra Nagar were the most vocal members during the debate in Rajya Sabha. Both are from UP and were previously in the House as Samajwadi Party MPs. In fact, when Rajya Sabha's Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge recently spoke about trains, Shekhar asked whether he ever travelled in a train. Kharge responded by saying that he used to receive Shekhar's father and former PM Chandra Shekhar in Gulbarga railway station. Some of the BJP MPs were also surprised by the activism shown by the two MPs.
