BJP on Sunday released the first list of candidates for upcoming Telangana assembly elections. Following the MP, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh formula, the party fielded three of his four sitting MPs in the state in assembly elections.
Karimnagar MP and national general secretary Bandi Sanjay has been fielded from Karimnagar assembly seat. Nizamabad MP Arvind Dhramapuri and Adilabad MP Soyam Bapu Rao have been fielded from Korutla and Boath assembly seats respectively.
The name of union minister and state BJP president G Kishan Reddy is not in the first list.
At present he is the only MP left to be fielded.
The BJP state election committee chief Etala Rajender has been pitted against Telangana chief minister and BRS leader KCR from Gajwel seat. Rajender will also contest from his sitting Huzurabad seat.
The name of T Raja Singh, the suspended MLA from Goshamahal came as a surprise.
The party had suspended him last year after his remarks on Prophet Mohammad. His suspension was revoked as the ticket was announced.
Sitting BJP MLA from Dubbak M Raghunandan Rao has been fielded from the same seat.
As expected, the party has given preference to the OBC community by allotting 19 of 52 tickets. Eight tickets have been given to the SC community while six tickets have been given to the ST community.
