TMC announces candidates for 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Yusuf Pathan gets ticket, Mahua Moitra to contest from Krishna Nagar
Cricketer Yusuf Pathan got a ticket from the Berhampore constituency and will be up against Congress' Adhi Ranjan Chowdhury. Mahua Moitra is set to contest from Krishna Nagar.
Abhishek Banerjee will be contesting from Diamond Harbour. Sitting MP and Bollywood veteran Shatrughan Sinha will fight again from the Asansol seat.
Moreover, Former cricketer Kirti Azad will fight from the Burdwan Durgapur seat. This seat was won by BJP's Ahluwalia in the last polls.
Basitrhat seat (where Sandeshkhali is located) will be contested by Haji Nurul Islam as the existing sitting MP Nusrat Jahan has been dropped.
Jagadish Chandra Barma Basunia is set to contest from Cooch Behar. Tamluk will be fought by young leader & spokesperson Debanshu Bhattacharya. Party's Youth Congress President Sayani Ghosh will fight from Jadavpur.
TMC will contest solo is Assam, and West Bengal, said Mamata Banerjee. Seat-sharing talks on in UP with SP, she added.
Taking a dig at the central government, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee said, «We will never allow BJP to bring NRC or open detention camps in Bengal.»
The General Elections of 2024 in West Bengal are expected to be conducted in several phases, likely spanning both April and May. In 2019, West Bengal voted in all seven phases of the election, and a similar pattern is expected this time, possibly spanning seven to ten phases.
