Tour de France 2023 Stage 2: Result, winner and all the key updates

Lafay won the second stage of the Tour de France in San Sebastian, ending a 15-year drought for the Cofidis team. Lafay timed his attack perfectly, breaking away from a group of 24 riders in the final kilometres and holding off Wout Van Aert to the finish line.

Adam Yates retained the yellow jersey, finishing in the lead group with his teammate Tadej Pogacar, who finished third on the stage. Pogacar gained a few more bonus seconds, finishing ahead of Pello Bilbao and Tom Pidcock.
