The sector should grow 12-13% in 2025, he told ET in an interview on the sidelines of the 18th annual CII Tourism Summit.
The minister said the government is working on several projects to spruce up tourism hubs and to create new ones.
«If you see our popular leisure destinations, they are all doing brisk business and reporting full occupancies on weekends and in the year-end season. This reflects the demand-supply gap,» he said.
According to a CII-EY report released on Wednesday, the country's hospitality and tourism sectors are poised to create 6.1 million new jobs by 2036-37.
