Toy Story 5 is set to return in 2026 with familiar voices and a new plot centered on technology.
Toy Story 5 is scheduled for release in the United States on June 19, 2026. The movie will be directed by Andrew Stanton.
The official cast for Toy Story 5 has not been announced yet. However, Tim Allen, the voice of Buzz Lightyear, has mentioned that Disney has approached him about the project. He also mentioned that Tom Hanks, the voice of Woody, has been contacted to reprise his role. Allen shared this information on the Tonight Show. Disney has not provided further details.

The plot of Toy Story 5 was revealed at D23, where it was shared that the toys will face a new challenge: technology. In today’s world, children are increasingly focused on gadgets, which presents a challenge for Woody and the gang. Director Andrew Stanton mentioned that the core of the Toy Story films is the toys’ responsibility to be there for their kids. In this new installment, the toys will face difficulties as they go head-to-head with the electronics that captivate children today.
It was also revealed that Toy Story 5 will introduce a new group of villains. The toys will face off against malfunctioning Buzz Lightyear toys.
