Security Measures in Place
Security in Delhi has been heightened with multiple layers of barricades, concrete blocks, and other obstacles at border points to prevent the entry of farmers participating in the 'Delhi Chalo' march. Police and paramilitary forces, equipped with anti-riot gear, have been deployed extensively at Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur border points.
Farmers' Demands and March Plans
The Samyukta Kisan Morcha and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha have announced their intention to march towards Delhi to urge the government to address their demands, including the enactment of a law guaranteeing Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops. Despite inconclusive discussions with Union ministers, farmers are determined to proceed with their march, beginning early on Tuesday.
Traffic Diversion Routes
To minimize traffic disruptions, alternative routes have been suggested for various border crossings. Vehicles traveling from different borders to Delhi will be redirected through specific routes, including flyovers and alternative highways, to ease congestion and ensure smooth flow of traffic.
