Police Barricades and Traffic Diversions
The protest began at 10 am from Greater Noida’s Pari Chowk, with farmers marching towards Delhi. By noon, the farmers reached Mahamaya Flyover, where police established barricades at Charkha Chowk, near Amity University, and continued along the route at Mahamaya Flyover and Dalit Prerna Sthal. To ensure the farmers did not proceed to Delhi, the police conducted thorough checks on all vehicles.
Suniti, SP Women Safety, explained the situation: “We are not allowing tractors or other goods vehicles in Delhi on Monday. We are also stopping the vehicles of farmers. They are allowed to park their vehicles and walk towards Mahamaya Flyway.” The farmers were forced to park their vehicles around 5 km before Charkha Chowk and walk toward the protest site at Mahamaya Flyway.
Initially, one right lane was opened for commuters traveling to Delhi, but by 12.45 pm, the expressway was fully blocked. The police made efforts to stop the march by forming a human chain at the Mahamaya Flyway, but the farmers broke through, continuing their march forward.
