Narayana area of South West Delhi, a plumber lost his life when an elevator suddenly started moving, trapping him inside. This unfortunate event occurred in a multi-story residential building where the plumber, identified as Sanjay and a resident of Rajeev Camp, was engaged in the task of clearing water that had accumulated inside the elevator.
According to the local police, this incident occurred within the jurisdiction of the Naraina police station.
As Sanjay diligently carried out his inspection, the elevator unexpectedly sprang into action, confining him within its confines. Quick action was taken as local technicians were urgently summoned to open the elevator.
Despite their earnest efforts, the injured plumber was swiftly rushed to the hospital.
Tragically, despite the immediate medical attention, Sanjay was pronounced dead upon his arrival at the hospital.
The police reported, «A PCR was received at Naraina police station regarding the incident. Immediately, the local police reached the spot.
With the help of a local technician, the lift was opened, and the injured person was rushed to the hospital, where he was declared dead brought dead.»
The police further added, «There was some issue of waterlogging in the lift area, for which he was called. While he was examining that area, the lift moved, and he got stuck.»
An ongoing investigation is now underway to shed light on the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate event.
