Twitch after making controversial remarks about Palestinians.
Zach Hoyt, known online as Asmongold, described Palestinians as coming from an «inferior culture». He was later banned following backlash on social media, according to BBC news.
The streamer, who has five million followers, was suspended by Twitch for violating its community guidelines. These rules prohibit promoting discrimination or expressing inferiority based on protected characteristics. The channel where the comments were made now shows it is «temporarily unavailable» due to rule violations.
Following the suspension, Hoyt issued an apology on X (formerly Twitter). He later apologised on Twitter.
«Looking back on it, I was way too much of an asshole about the Palestine thing. My bad. Of course no one deserves to have their life destroyed even if they do things or have views I find regressive. You guys deserve more than me saying stupid shit like that, I'll do better,» he wrote.
