Investing.com — Stocks were little changed heading into the closing bell after a days of ups and downs as investors await another week filled with corporate earnings.
Federal Reserve officials are scheduled to speak this week, including two appearances by Chair Jerome Powell. Futures markets expect the Fed will pause at its next meeting in December. Before that, it will see more economic data, including the consumer price index, which comes out next week.
Retail earnings are pulling up the end of third quarter earnings season and could provide investors will insight into what big department stores and other merchants are preparing for during the holiday sales season.
