UBS co-head of equities Chris Scott is out. Street Talk understands the UBS veteran exited the Swiss investment bank on Thursday following an internal structural shift.

Scott – who spent 23 years with UBS until 2016 – was named its new co-head of equities for Australasia, alongside Steve Boxall, in 2020 ahead of the shake-up in UBS Australia’s top ranks, with the bank being hit by a slew of departures to rival firms including Barrenjoey Capital.
He reported to the bank’s Asia-Pacific head of equities Taichi Takahashi and was focused primarily on the equity derivatives and solutions and financing businesses.
Prior, he was head of UBS’ APAC equity derivatives trading unit based in Hong Kong.
The departure comes weeks after UBS equity capital markets banker Richard Wilks was named head of equity capital market syndicate for Asia Pacific. He had been head of UBS’ ECM syndicate in Australia and New Zealand, moving across from the debt capital markets side of the business in 2015.
Kong-Hong-based Kevin Cui was also been appointed head of UBS’ ECM syndicate in Asia.
