Michael 'Venom' Page will make his octagon debut at UFC 299 in Miami on March 9, 2024, and take on American Kevin Holland in his first fight. The welterweight was in talks with several MMA promotions but has opted to join domestic rival the UFC. The UFC President Dana White announced the news after Briton Leon Edwards' successful defense of his welterweight title on Saturday. Page has 21 wins and two defeats on his record. He competed 18 times for Bellator before his contract expired after his previous fight in March.
The Londoner has 13 stoppages and 21 wins and he has earned a dedicated following as one of the UK's most entertaining fighters. Besides UFC London in July and PFL Dublin earlier this month, Page has appeared cageside at several events this year.
UFC president Dana White also said that Ian Garry would fight Geoff Neal at UFC 299. The Irishman was due to fight at UFC 296 but withdrew in fight week with illness. Besides, Sean O'Malley will also defend his bantamweight title against Marlon Vera headlining UFC 299.
Meanwhile, in the UFC 296 fight, Leon Edwards defended his welterweight title with a comfortable unanimous decision win over Colby Covington. The performance bonuses were given to Irene Aldana vs. Karol Rosa (Fight of the Night) and Josh Emmett, Ariane Lipski, and Shamil Gaziev (Performance of the Night). If media reports are to be believed, the event has collected the gate money of $9.3 million from a sold-out T-Mobile Arena with 19,309 fans in attendance.
