Dmitry Kuleba «will make an emergency visit to Pakistan» in a few days ostensibly to discuss procurement of additional defence equipment as Kyiv runs short of ammunition in its war against Russia. Kuleba's trip will be the first big visit from Ukraine to Pakistan since the War and the issue of defence procurement is expected to figure high on the agenda, ET has learnt.
The visit could happen either this week or next week and will be closely watched in several capitals including New Delhi and Moscow. He will meet his Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and is also likely to call on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and military authorities, ET has learnt.
Ukraine's arms and ammunition stockpiles are depleting fast despite supplies from the West. This has slowed down the «counter offensive».
