Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Council (UPBEC) has announced a winter vacation for all schools in the state. The directive, which extends until January 14, 2024, applies to schools from pre-primary to Class 8.
This decision, issued by BSA Dinesh Kumar upon receiving government correspondence, is not limited to council-run schools; it also includes aided and recognized schools. The aim is to ensure that both students and educational institutions across the state strictly adhere to the designated winter break schedule.
District School Inspector Chandra K Singh, in accordance with government directives, has advised the principals of secondary schools where classes up to the 8th are conducted.
As per the orders, students in these classes are granted a holiday until January 14, 2024. The principals have been instructed to take the necessary measures to comply with this decision.
The decision to declare a winter break comes in light of the orange alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD has predicted cold wave conditions in several areas of Uttar Pradesh in the upcoming days. As a precautionary measure, schools have been shut to ensure the safety and well-being of students.
Earlier on Thursday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched PM SHRI schools in the state under which 928 schools will be upgraded.
