Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday reviewed the flood situation in the state’s 11 districts due to the water released from the mountains and bad weather conditions in the last three days. CM Yogi has directed all the officials concerned of the eleven districts- Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Lakhimpur Kheri, Ballia, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Kanpur Nagar, GB Nagar, Sitapur, Hardoi and Shahjahanpur, to ensure proper relief works.
Senior officers have been asked to tour the flood-affected areas and keep a close eye on the ongoing relief works. Teams of NDRF and SDRF have been deployed in all the eleven districts. CM Yogi has directed officials to assess the damage done to the crops and subsequently, submit a report to the state government. According to a release, the government wants to provide compensation money to the farmers at the earliest possible. He has also directed the officials to give financial help to people whose houses have been damaged or who have lost their animals.
Meanwhile, Relief Commissioner Bhanu Chandra Goswami said the relief operations are going on war footing in all the flood-affected 11 districts. According to him, five villages of Kushinagar districts are affected due to the flood in Gandak river. The government has set up 16-flood-shelters there. The total number of pre-positioned boats is 42 while one team of NDRF and one team of SDRF is deployed in the area. NDRF team rescued ten persons who were trapped in flood
