Uttarakhand government signed an MoU worth Rs 15000 crores with the JSW Neo Energy Limited at the roadshow of its Global Investor Summit organised at a hotel in New Delhi on Wednesday.
Apart from this, the government also signed MoUs with different organisations. Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was present on this occasion.
As per the MoU, two pumped storages of 1500 mw will be developed in the state’s Almora district.
CM expected cooperation in the field of pump storage plant, cement, sport, training centre, drinking water and restoration and beautification of the temples of Kumaon region (Manaskhand temple Mala under the CSR) in the state.
As a part of the MoU, the JSW Neo Energy Limited will plan for setting up two self-identified pump storage projects of 1500 MW capacity in Almora and these projects will be developed in the coming 5 to 6 years.
Referring to the successful show of the G-20 in India, CM Dhami said this is an inspiration for his government to hold a Global Investors’ summit in the state. He also added the summit, which the Uttarakhand government is organising, will be on the pattern of “Vibrant Gujarat”.
He further recalled the contribution of Atal Bihari Vajpayee government at the centre in the industrial growth of the state.
He said the state is making progress very fast and his government is working on the various schemes of about 1.50 lakh crores today.
Highlighting Uttarakhand as a favourite destination of the tourists, he said the state has so far received about 44 lakhs pilgrims during the Char-Dham Yatra this year.
The good sign for the state is that all hotels and homestays remain fully booked during this Yatra season.
