Davos, where the 54th annual World Economic Forum meeting is taking place. The forum has consistently served as a global stage for leaders from diverse fields, addressing pressing challenges and exploring innovative solutions for a better future together.
As we reconvene this year, with the fragile geopolitical situation globally, there is a renewed sense of urgency and shared responsibility powered by the energy and enthusiasm generated by the convergence of over 3000 global leaders.
This promises a melting pot of ideas, fostering collaboration with cooperation beyond borders for rebuilding trust.
If the pavilions on the Promenade are an indication of the growing clout of nations and sectors, then India, Sustainability, and Artificial Intelligence are on top of the pack. India, this year, in addition to the engagement and experience centers of Invest India and the state pavilions, has two additional pavilions – the CII @ Davos Lounge and the WeLead Women’s Leadership Lounge, which stand out for thoughtful and well-curated discussions.
I was particularly delighted to see the latter.
This year China returns with a strong message that they are ready for business. The 140+ strong delegation is being led by Premier Li Quiang.
However, the response from the global community has been quite lukewarm where South Asia and India are being seen as alternative investment destinations and partners to build resilient supply chains. Further up North, there is no sight of an end to the Russia-Ukraine war.
President Zelenskyy was here pressing allies and actively gathering support from global leaders.
In light of the fragile geopolitical landscape, rebuilding trust is an apt theme for Davos this year. Securing an insecure world by
