Waqf Bill: Does NDA have numbers to pass the controversial Bill? Here are those supporting and opposing it
Waqf Amendment Bill will taken up for debate and passage in the Lower House of the Parliament today. With the parties in the ruling BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and the Opposition INDIA bloc showing no signs of bipartisan consensus building, the outcomes may be decided on the majority numbers on the floor.
The strength of the NDA in Lok Sabha is 293, comfortably ahead of the majority mark in the 542-member House. Even in Rajya Sabha, NDA has surpassed the majority mark with 126 members on its side in the House of 236 members, including two independents and six nominated members, who invariably vote in support of the govt.

The bill will be tabled after the Question Hour today for consideration and passing, and following that, an 8-hour discussion will be held, which is also subject to an increase.
