After repeated water-loggings post rainfall in Delhi, a massive portion of road caved in Janakpuri area of the national capital on Tuesday. So far no fatal injury has been reported. In a latest video shared by news agency ANI, a giant hole can be seen covering maximum portion of the road.
The police had barricaded the hole to avoid any accident. Due to the formation of the large crater in the middle of the road, a large traffic congestion was witnessed in the area, police told PTI on Wednesday. The incident occurred on Tuesday night.
Since then the sunken area of the road was barricaded. Since morning, social media platforms like Twitter were flooded with the visuals of the caved-in portion of the Janakpuri road. One of the main reasons behind the incident was heavy rainfall.
However, sudden collapse of such a big portion of the road impugns the quality of the constructed road. In last twenty four hour, Delhi recorded 0.2 mm rainfall till 8:30 am on Wednesday. The concerned department was informed about the incident to carry out repair work.
