Delhi Metro train services will kick off early, starting from 4 am at terminal stations across all lines. As per a TOI report, this extended schedule is set to be in effect for three days, from September 8 to September 10.
During this period, trains will operate with a 30-minute frequency on all lines until 6 am.
After 6 am, the Metro services will revert to their usual timetable for the rest of the day.
Anuj Dayal, the principal executive director of corporate communications at the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), told TOI the rationale behind this temporary schedule adjustment, stating, «To facilitate the public, police personnel, and staff from other assisting agencies deployed to maintain security, law and order, traffic arrangements, etc. for the upcoming G20 Summit to be held in Delhi on September 9 and 10, Metro train services will start from 4 am from terminal stations of all lines for three days.»
While this change is aimed at ensuring the smooth functioning of the event, there are certain restrictions in place.
Notably, the Supreme Court Metro station will be off-limits for boarding and deboarding of passengers on September 9 and 10 due to security constraints. Additionally, other stations in New Delhi district may see brief entry or exit regulations on these same dates to facilitate the movement of VVIP delegations, as directed by security agencies.
Furthermore, parking facilities at most Metro stations will continue to be available as usual, with the exception of three stations in New Delhi district: Supreme Court, Patel Chowk, and Rama Krishna Ashram Marg.
