Donald Trump has announced that Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy will head the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Trump revealed the appointment on Tuesday, saying, “I am pleased to announce that the Great Elon Musk, working in conjunction with American Patriot Vivek Ramaswamy, will lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).”
Ramaswamy will make history as the first Indian-American to join Trump’s administration, starting January 20 next year.
In his statement, Trump explained that Musk and Ramaswamy would help his administration tackle government bureaucracy by cutting unnecessary regulations, reducing wasteful spending, and restructuring federal agencies. This, Trump said, is crucial for the «Save America» movement.
Musk also commented, expressing his determination to push for change: “This will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in government waste, which is a lot of people!”
Trump went further, calling the project potentially «The Manhattan Project of the current time.»
