Backed by a Republican-controlled Congress, Trump’s proposed actions span immigration, the economy, energy policy, and foreign affairs. This ambitious blueprint reflects his commitment to delivering on campaign promises and addressing the concerns of his voter base while reigniting debates on contentious national issues.
Immigration remains a cornerstone of Trump’s agenda, with proposals designed to reinforce his tough stance on border security and illegal immigration. Among his key pledges are the initiation of a mass deportation programme targeting undocumented immigrants and the reinstatement of the controversial «Remain in Mexico» policy, which requires asylum seekers to await hearings outside the United States. Trump has also vowed to utilise Title 42—a public health measure—to close the southern border and end birthright citizenship for children of non-citizens and undocumented migrants. The latter would require constitutional amendments and is expected to ignite legal battles. While these measures resonate with Trump’s supporters, critics argue that the logistical and humanitarian challenges are significant, with potential repercussions for migrant communities and international relations.
