Sini Shetty, the reigning Femina Miss India World 2022, is poised to dazzle the world as she represents India at the 71st Miss World pageant, which returns to India after 28 years. So far, with her intelligence and charm, as well as her performances in the Top Model and Talent rounds, she has earned a spot in the Top 14, solidifying her status as a frontrunner in the competition. Shetty — who has a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance — recently spoke to India’s leading business channel ETNOW, for its programme ETNOW Hangouts. Excerpts from the interview:
You’ve spoken about how you’ve been through different facets of your life — being an accounting student and preparing for your Certified Financial Analysis (CFA) to become a financial analyst. How do you like to invest your money?
Let me tell you how I got into accountancy.
Ever since I was a kid, I used to do this silly thing. Whenever I was travelling and saw a number plate, I used to add up the numbers and give a solution to my mom, saying, ‘Hey, Mom, listen, I did the math in one second!’ And that’s how my interest in math started and led to an interest in accountancy. I also grew fond of investments and banking as well and started doing financial analysis.
That was why I wanted to do CFA along with marketing, so that I could have my own business and understand the dynamics of how to run a company. When it comes to investments, I maintain a balance between modern transactions and old money. Safe investments like mutual funds, bonds are important.
But I’m also someone who believes in old money. At four, my mom gifted me my first gold bracelet. I’m looking into real estate opportunities as well.
So you’re definitely not a crypto person?
