Jared Isaacman is about to launch a revolutionary space expedition. He will be in charge of Polaris Dawn, which is scheduled to launch from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on Tuesday morning. With plans to go farther from Earth than any previous private expedition, Isaacman and his crew hope to push the limits of space tourism. During the course of the five-day journey, Isaacman hopes to make history by being the first private citizen to try a spacewalk, as per the reports of the New York Post.
A major advancement in private space exploration is the Polaris Dawn project. Isaacman is now again making the most of his wealth, having previously contributed $200 million toward a three-day space mission in 2021. Although the current mission's cost has not been revealed, it is thought to be more expensive than his last endeavor. Alongside him are SpaceX engineers Anna Menon and Sarah Gillis, as well as his close friend and former Air Force pilot Scott «Kidd» Poteet. They intend to travel together to an altitude of about 870 miles, which will bring them inside the Van Allen radiation belt, a region noted for its high-energy particle concentration.
