«I think my software engineers will go away. They will not have jobs within two years,» Tewari said during an event by LetsVenture, an early-stage investment platform. «My CTO (chief technology officer) will deliver 80% automation in software coding by the end of this year. We have already achieved 50%. The codes created by the machine are faster and better, and they fix themselves,» he said, speaking to Shanti Mohan, CEO of LetsVenture.
Tewari urgently called on professionals to upgrade themselves, saying that artificial intelligence (AI) will first come for the highly specialised jobs. «Upgrade yourself, don't ask me to upgrade you. Because this is survival. The world underneath you is shifting,» he said, referring to employees.
He also said investors' jobs are also in danger as there are now models that can make better choices. «The only part the model cannot replicate is human psychology. So, if you're good at reading people, then you have a job, but most investors are not good at reading people. They're good at business models.»
