Tata Sons Chairman N. Chandrasekaran received Rs 135 crore in FY24, marking a 20% rise from the previous year's earnings and maintaining his status as the highest-paid executive in an Indian company.
Tata Sons CFO Saurabh Agrawal earned Rs 30 crore in FY24, making him the second-highest paid executive within Tata Group, India's largest conglomerate. His earnings exceeded those of the chiefs of the group's operating companies, such as TCS, Tata Steel, and IHCL, which operates the Taj hotels.
Agrawal's compensation grew by around 8% compared to FY23. TCS CEO K. Krithivasan, IHCL head Puneet Chhatwal, and Tata Steel chief T.V. Narendran earned Rs 25 crore, Rs 19 crore, and Rs 17 crore, respectively, in FY24.
Krithivasan's remuneration covered his tenure as TCS' global head of BFSI from April 1, 2023, to May 31, 2023, and as CEO from June 1, 2023, to March 31, 2024. He stepped into the role following the sudden departure of Rajesh Gopinathan.
Other Tata Group CEOs, such as Praveer Sinha of Tata Power and Sunil D'Souza of Tata Consumer Products, each earned Rs 10 crore in FY24, while R. Mukundan of Tata Chemicals received Rs 8 crore.
Several Tata Group CEOs also hold shares in the companies they manage. Chandrasekaran's FY24 compensation at Tata Sons included Rs 122 crore in commission from the company’s profits, with the remaining Rs 13 crore from salary and perquisites.
