Women empowerment, technology, employment and balanced regional development have been the focus areas for the Micro, small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) ministry in the first 100 days of Modi 3.0 government, according to Jitan Ram Manjhi, Minister of MSME.
Highlighting the ministry's achievements, Manjhi said, “We are encouraging women entrepreneurs to expand their enterprises and also for those who haven’t started their enterprises, to start one.”
Guarantee coverage under the Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) scheme for women has been increased to 90% from 85%, expected to benefit 4.5 lakh women-owned micro and small enterprises.
CGTMSE covers collateral-free credit facility (term loan and/ or working capital) extended by eligible lending institutions to micro and small enterprises up to Rs. 5 crore per borrowing unit.
The ministry also launched the Yashasvini campaign for formalisation, capacity building and mentoring of women-owned enterprises, focusing on onboarding these enterprises on various digital e-commerce platforms.
