Arunachal Pradesh, Yumsen Matey was killed in Tirap district by unidentified people.
Sources said that the former MLA of Khonsa West constituency was assassinated by suspected militants. He was abducted from a function in Raho village in Lazu circle.
He was the member of Arunachal Pradesh Assembly from Khonsa West in Tirap district.
He belonged to the Indian National congress. He was also Parliamentary Secretary.
In 2015, Matey joined the BJP.
Three districts of Arunachal Pradesh Tirap, Changlang and Longding are besieged by insurgency problems. The area is under the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA).
In recent times the area is witnessing spat in extortion and abduction cases.
Tirap, Longding and Changlang share a porous border with Myanmar. These areas have not only been transit routes but used as transit for several banned militant groups of Assam and Nagaland.
In 2019 National Peoples party (NPP) MLA, Tirong Aboh from Khonsa West constituency along with 10 others were killed by suspected militants in Arunachal Pradesh.

Two day after two top militants of the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura were arrested in Tripura, two more hardcore cadres of the outfit and one of their collaborators were arrested on Saturday immediately after they fled from their Bangladeshi hideout.
