Digital Platform security President Bitcoin country reports Trump's bitcoin reserve a 'digital Fort Knox'
Strategic Bitcoin Reserve" in the United States is further proof of President Donald Trump's support for the cryptocurrency sector. Trump earlier this month signed an executive order establishing the reserve, which White House crypto chief David Sacks has likened to «a digital Fort Knox», comparing it to the stockpiling of gold bars at the US military base. Gold is held in reserves by countries worldwide as the metal is seen as a safe-haven asset, protecting against financial instability such as high inflation. The metal on Friday surpassed $3,000 per ounce for the first time, boosted by an uncertain economic outlook amid Trump's tariffs. Gold reserves can help also stabilise a country's currency, while bars are used as collateral for loans and transactions.

In her online post, she expressed shock at the restriction, challenging the logic behind preventing individuals from jogging in the park. She also employed sarcasm to make her point, suggesting that, at this rate, the next rule might involve outlawing Western attire in public parks.

UPS Target Trade President reports Russia and Ukraine trade overnight aerial attacks after Putin sets out conditions for ceasefire
The attacks comes less than 24 hours after Russian President Vladimir Putin met with U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff to discuss details of the American proposal for a 30-day ceasefire in the war with Ukraine. Putin told a press conference on Thursday that he supported a truce in principle but set out a host of details that need to be clarified before it is agreed. Kyiv has already endorsed the truce proposal, although Ukrainian officials have publicly raised doubts as to whether Moscow will commit to such a deal. Speaking to reporters in Kyiv on Saturday, after virtual talks between Western allies hosted by U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Zelenskyy voiced Ukraine's support for the 30-day full ceasefire proposal to discuss a longer-term peace plan, but said Russia would attempt to derail talks with conditions and «buts». Starmer has told allies to «keep the pressure» on Putin to back a ceasefire in Ukraine, hailing Ukraine as the «party of peace.» Starmer said Putin will «sooner or later» have to «come to the table.

BLOCK WhatsApp President War reports Department Courts Trump invokes the 18th-century Alien Enemies Act, a wartime law, amid immigration crackdown; judge stalls it hours later
Trump on Saturday invoked the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, claiming the United States was being invaded by a Venezuelan gang called Tren de Aragua. This rarely used war-time law grants the president broad powers to expedite mass deportations, potentially advancing Trump's aggressive immigration crackdown. Trump asserted that Tren de Aragua was acting on behalf of Venezuela's government, describing the gang as a hostile force that poses a serious threat to the United States. «Over the years, Venezuelan national and local authorities have ceded ever-greater control over their territories to transnational criminal organisations, including TdA,» Trump's statement read. «The result is a hybrid criminal state that is perpetrating an invasion of and predatory incursion into the United States.» Hours after Trump’s proclamation, US District Court Chief Judge James E. Boasberg issued an emergency order blocking deportations under the 18th-century law. Boasberg intervened after reports emerged that the government had already begun flying deportees to El Salvador and Honduras for detention.

US recession. A raging tariff war. Supply chains in disarray. Companies grappling with uncertainty. Governments on tenterhooks. On March 5, Trump underlined this with his plan forreciprocal tariffs on countries such as India and China. “Whatever they tariff us, other countries, we will tariff them. That’s reciprocal, back and forth,” Trump said in his first address to the joint session of Congress.

CEO Action Discover WhatsApp Trade reports IndusInd Bank stable, be wary of 'speculative reports,' says RBI
Reserve Bank of India said Saturday that the financial position of IndusInd Bank «remains satisfactory», reassuring depositors of the safety of their money after the lender last week reported discrepancies in its derivatives portfolio and warned of a one-time hit on its net worth. The bank is «well-capitalised», while its financial health «remains stable» and is being closely monitored, the RBI said in a press release, and urged depositors not to be swayed by «speculative reports at this juncture». Based on public disclosures, the bank has already engaged an external audit team to review its systems and assess the actual impact of any issues, the central bank said. It directed the lender's board and management to complete the remedial actions by the end of this month after making required disclosures to all stakeholders. According to the bank's auditor-reviewed financial results for the quarter ending December 31, 2024, IndusInd Bank has maintained a solid capital adequacy ratio of 16.46% and provision coverage ratio of 70.20%, compared with the RBI-mandated 9% and 70%, respectively. Its liquidity coverage ratio was 113% as on March 9, exceeding the regulatory requirement of 100%. The reassurance comes amid growing concerns about the bank's lapses in derivatives accounting which it discovered in September-October but disclosed only on Monday.

markets Target Manufacturing Volkswagen President audience Features European car companies step on gas for a footing in India
Skoda Auto's India unit is targeting 2026 sales of more than 100,000 vehicles, which will be more than twice its annual sales in recent years. That number may still seem small when compared with the sales volume of Maruti Suzuki, the local market leader that sells one and a half times as many cars and SUVs each month in India. But in a market where European automakers have long been pushed to the sidelines by their Japanese, Korean and local rivals, the Skoda target is a formidable one. Skoda and other European mass-market brands like Volkswagen, Renault and Citroen are trying to carve out a space for themselves in the crowded but fast-growing Indian market through strategic positioning and niche offerings with premium features, latest technology and competitive pricing. «The Indian automotive landscape is experiencing nuanced shifts, even with Japanese brands holding a strong lead. These shifts signal growing opportunities for global players to respond to evolving consumer preferences,» said Ravi Bhatia, president at Jato Dynamics.
