Reuters Tesla Election performer country reports Vandalism, weak sales hit Tesla in Australia and New Zealand
SYDNEY: When Australian Dick Friend bought a Tesla in 2015, he was so impressed with its environmental credentials and performance that he and his wife bought two more of the electric vehicles, plus shares in the Elon Musk-led company. Now, however, he is selling his Tesla stock and will not replace one of his cars, wrecked in an accident last year, citing his objections to Musk's right-wing tilt and his growing role in the administration of Donald Trump. «The cars are brilliant, but we don't like the direction of the owner and we're voting with our feet,» said Friend, who splits time between homes in Hobart and Melbourne. Tesla sales in the four months since Trump's election were down 35% compared with the same time last year, according to data from Australia's Electric Vehicle Council, with a spate of vandalism in Australia and New Zealand over the last week also adding to evidence of contagion from Musk's role in the Trump administration.

Pool wellness reports testing travelers International cricket After white-ball supremacy, Gautam Gambhir has 'A' plan to bring back India's Test cricket glory, starting 5 months ahead of England tour
Gautam Gambhir is set to accompany the India 'A' team on their tour of England ahead of the senior team's five-Test series starting June 20, TOI's Arani Basu has reported. This comes in the backdrop of Gambhir's aim to closely assess the reserve player pool during a period devoid of international fixtures for the Indian team. With the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) currently lacking a designated coach for developmental teams, it remains to be seen whether Gambhir will serve solely as an observer or if VVS Laxman, the BCCI's Head Cricket, will take on a more hands-on role. This marks a significant shift as it will be the first instance of a senior team coach traveling with the India 'A' squad. Sources revealed that Gambhir has been actively developing a roadmap that spans across formats, focusing on preparation for the 2027 ODI World Cup, as well as the World Test Championship and the 2026 T20 World Cup. «Gambhir has been in discussions with the BCCI since he returned from Australia. He has expressed his desire to travel with the India 'A' team to get a clearer view of the reserve pool,» a BCCI source told TOI.

150th anniversary Test between Australia and England will be held under lights at the Melbourne Cricket Ground from March 11-15, 2027. markets Art Booking Gap love show classical How scribblings enhance the value of second-hand cookbooks
KKS Murthy, the owner of Bengaluru’s Select Books, who recently passed away aged 95, it was after a gap of many years. He seemed quite unchanged, sitting amid the heaps of books in his now 80-year-old shop off Brigade Road. He recognised me at once and, without asking, directed me to a pile of second-hand cookbooks. I rarely buy physical books now. You can tell me all about the joys of holding a printed book, and I’ll shrug and switch on the e-books app on my tablet or phone, with instant access to thousands of books, new ones instantly available, all easily searchable, with adjustable lighting and size. I also live in a humid Goa valley, which is rotting my old books. But I still love second-hand books. Booksellers like Murthy who specialise in them are rare now, with the places where they congregated — Fort’s pavements in Mumbai, Moore Market in Chennai —mostly cleared away. New & Secondhand, in Mumbai’s Dhobi Talao, is a distant memory. But Murthy kept the flag flying for the kind of place where, instead of the purposive searching of regular bookshops, you could randomly sift through piles and find the one book which, through past owners and shops, was waiting for you.

Mohammed Shami had an eventful start to the Champions Trophy 2025 final against New Zealand at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. In the seventh over, Shami dropped a crucial caught-and-bowled chance off Rachin Ravindra, giving the in-form Kiwi batter a lifeline. The missed opportunity left skipper Rohit Sharma visibly frustrated, as India hoped to break New Zealand’s strong start. Bowling to Rachin, Shami sent down a full delivery at the stumps, which was driven powerfully straight back at him. The veteran pacer attempted a reverse-cup catch over his left shoulder, but the ball ricocheted off his little finger, slipping away for a single. Shami immediately looked in discomfort, prompting the physio to rush onto the field and tape his fingers.

markets Provident Career performer stage India’s quest for a third Champions Trophy title begins: Can they break the Kiwi curse this time around?
This 'mini-World Cup' clash pits two of the most consistent yet often unlucky teams in ICC tournaments. Both nations are desperate for success after recent near-misses in major ODI finals—India falling short in the 2017 Champions Trophy and the 2023 World Cup, while New Zealand suffered heartbreaking defeats in the 2015 and 2019 World Cups. Adding some intrigue to the match is India's campaign, which has been slightly clouded by accusations of an “unfair advantage” due to all of their matches being scheduled at a single venue.
