Metals can be tactical trade for next few months: Aman Chowhan
"Chemicals is one space which is underrated right now because clearly we are seeing earnings headwinds, we are seeing margin pressures because China's supply has opened up so that is also something for the next three to six months one should be very watchful," says Aman Chowhan, Abakkus Asset Management. So, financial seems to be the consensus trade that you are talking about. But which is the most underrated sector, you would say, is that technology? Technology, yes but at the same time stocks have not corrected the way the results have been, the way the Infosys revised guidance, there has not been much impact on the stock price.

China factory activity shrinks for fourth straight month
The official manufacturing purchasing managers' index (PMI) — a key measure of factory output — came in at 49.3, below the 50-point mark that separates expansion and contraction, according to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). July's reading was slightly higher than June's 49.0 figure and was better than forecasts in a Bloomberg survey. «The overall level of manufacturing prosperity continued to improve,» NBS statistician Zhao Qinghe said in a statement. China is struggling to improve growth as its post-Covid recovery runs out of steam, due in large part to sluggish consumer spending.

ETMarkets Smart Talk- Our outlook favours small-cap stocks over mid- and large-caps: Satish Menon
“Our outlook favours small-cap stocks over mid- and large-caps. This is because the comparative valuation is compelling and small caps are trading near the long-term averages, while mid & large are substantially above the average,” says Satish Menon, Executive Director at Geojit Financial Services. In an interview with ETMarkets, Menon said: “Small companies generally benefit from a lag effect, hence, demand and operating margin are forecasted to benefit in the next 1 to 2 quarters” Edited excerpts:We have seen a dream run on D-St with Sensex hitting 67000 and Nifty50 heading towards the 20,000 mark. Is this too good to be true and we are running ahead of fundamentals? We find no evidence of over-optimism in the domestic stock market.
