Airlines performer reports Jet Airways' lenders want Jalan-Kalrock consortium to reveal source of its funding
Jet Airways on Wednesday said that the Jalan-Kalrock consortium, the beleaguered airline's would-be-owners, should disclose the source of the ₹200 crore it has paid as part of the first tranche of payment to take control of the carrier. The counsel for the lenders said before the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) in Delhi that JKC needs to disclose the source of the funds as part of the resolution plan, and that the money should come from JKC and not a third party. In this regard, the lenders have also filed a petition before the NCLT in Mumbai. Jet has been grounded since April 2019, after being unable to pay for its day-to-day operations. The NCLAT has asked Jet's committee of creditors — led by SBI — to file its objections to the compliance report filed by JKC before the next date of hearing, which is October 12. The counsel for JKC will also make submissions on the source of funds at the next date of hearing.

NEW DELHI : State-run Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) is installing Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) software at the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) in New Delhi for continuous monitoring of computers following repeated cyber-attacks. This is being done on the advice of the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Centre (NCIIPC) and Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), which recently found malware on computers connected with MTNL. AIIMS Delhi has faced disruption in services due to cyberattacks, following which all doctors and medical staff have been advised to use AIIMS computers on its closed networks.

Last year, Neha Bansal, co-founder of Lenskart and Peyush’s sister, purchased a 400-square-yard bungalow in Delhi’s Greater Kailash for Rs 22 crore. “A South Delhi based builder bought the other three floors along with the terrace for about Rs 35 crore in two separate transactions. He will probably redevelop the property and sell the floors individually.

The company expects that battery swapping will help reduce the upfront and operating costs of electric vehicles, crucial for its widespread adoption in India, one of the world’s largest automobile markets. The Mukesh Ambani-led conglomerate is looking to tap into the entire ecosystem of EVs ranging from cells and batteries to charging and battery swapping as it seeks to “democratize EVs and make them more affordable,” a company executive said requesting anonymity as he was not authorized to speak to the media. As part of the plan, RIL has developed a removable lithium-ion battery that can power an electric scooter, electric three-wheeler and a light commercial vehicle, besides lighting up homes during a power outage. The batteries can be changed at RIL's battery swapping stations or re-charged by households using rooftop solar panels, which it also plans to sell.
