The 81-year-old Tunda, a close aide of wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim, was accused of carrying out blasts in five trains in different cities in December 1993 to mark the first anniversary of the Babri Masjid demolition. Two people were killed and several injured in the blasts.

The CBI failed to present any strong evidence against Abdul Karim Tunda,» says Tunda's advocate Shafiktullah Sultani. The TADA court had framed charges against main accused Abdul Karim Tunda and two others — Irfan alias Pappu and Hamiruddin — on Sept 30, 2021, for orchestrating the blasts in Lucknow, Kanpur, Hyderabad, Surat and Mumbai on the intervening night of Dec 5-6, 1993.

Seeking a taxi outside the station, the victim was approached by the articulate and amicable cab driver who offered a ride at a considerably lower fare than the app-based cabs. During the journey, the passenger, feeling thirsty, accepted a water bottle from the driver as a goodwill gesture. However, after consuming the water, he fell into a deep sleep, only to wake up 12 hours later on the roadside. To his dismay, he discovered that his iPhone, wallet, cash amounting to Rs 16,000, and valuable items like gold and rings were missing.

SJVN on Friday began commercial supply of electricity from its 50 MW Gujrai solar power station in Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh. With this, the total installed power capacity of SJVN stands at 2,277 MW, with 10 power stations currently operational, a power ministry statement said. According to the statement, SJVN, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Power, has begun the successful commercial operation of its 50 MW Gujrai solar power station in Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh on Friday. The 50 MW Gujrai solar power station has been executed by SJVN through its renewable arm, SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL) at a cost of Rs 281 crore.
