Netflix’s 'Squid Game: The Trials': Here’s what it is, launch date, tickets and more
Netflix will debut an interactive 'Squid Game: The Trials' experience in Los Angeles. It will feature live competitive games, a «Night Market» offering Korean cuisine, beverages, a Squid Game store, and photo opportunities. Chef Katianna Hong from the restaurant YANGBAN will curate the food and drinks. The experience will open on December 6 at the Television City complex, with ticket sales starting on October 11. Tickets will be available from $39, and the experience will run from Wednesdays to Sundays. Netflix aims to build fan engagement through immersive experiences, and it has previously launched similar events based on popular shows like Bridgerton, Stranger Things, and Money Heist in cities, such as New York and Los Angeles. Additionally, earlier this year, Netflix introduced the Netflix Bites pop-up restaurant in L.A., featuring cuisine from its featured chefs. At the 'Squid Game: The Trials' experience, participants will encounter the «Front Man,» the series' masked antagonist, and undertake six progressively challenging tasks, earning points as they progress. The ultimate victor will need nerves of steel, strategic thinking, and a bit of luck. In an announcement by Josh Simon, Netflix's VP of consumer products, the company emphasized its commitment to live immersive experiences as part of its strategy to cultivate dedicated followings for its flagship franchises. Netflix has also extended its physical presence with a store at The Grove, where it sells merchandise inspired by its content.

Los Angeles Attacks Charter Schools
Enrollment is declining in union-run public schools across the country, and Los Angeles lost about 7.6% of its K-12 students from 2020-21 to 2022-23. Yet the teachers union and its allies in the city are mounting an effort to restrict charter schools from using empty space in district schools. California law requires school districts to make space available to charter students through “co-location." This lets charters reach agreements to use classrooms and other space in district school buildings.

Man arrested in connection with Tupac Shakur killing: Here’s what you may want to know
Tupac Shakur. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department executed a new search warrant in July, reopening the investigation near the Las Vegas Strip where Shakur was killed 30 years ago. Duane “Keffe D” Davis was apprehended early on a Friday morning. The exact charges were not specified. Davis has previously claimed to be a witness to the crime but has never disclosed names. In his 2019 memoir, "Compton Street Legend," Davis alleged he was in the car involved in targeting Shakur, who was 25 years old when he was killed. The arrest followed a police raid on Davis’ wife’s Henderson home on July 17. Details were limited, but police seized computers, a cellphone, a hard drive, a Vibe magazine featuring Shakur, bullets, photos, and a copy of «Compton Street Legend.» Federal authorities in Las Vegas and Los Angeles have previously investigated Shakur’s death, but no arrests have been made. Nevada has no statute of limitations for homicide cases, and the investigation into Shakur’s death has been ongoing for nearly three decades, with periods of inactivity.
