The strange case of Hannah Kobayashi: Why was the California photographer reported missing?
Hannah Kobayashi, a Maui-based artist known for her mandala and geometric designs, began her journey on 8 November, flying from Maui to Los Angeles International Airport. She was scheduled to catch a connecting flight to New York City but never boarded. Police reported that Kobayashi had expressed a desire to «step away from modern connectivity» before her trip. Lt. Douglas Oldfield of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) added, “Her social media posts suggested she wanted to disconnect from her phone.” After leaving the airport without her phone, Kobayashi visited several locations in Los Angeles, including The Grove shopping area and Union Station. She was last seen crossing the US-Mexico border on 12 November with her luggage.

Amid legal trouble with Brad Pitt, is Angelina Jolie planning her escape from Hollywood?
Angelina Jolie has been grabbing the headlines recently due to her legal disputes with Brad Pitt. The actress is back in the spotlight after reports emerged that she is planning to leave Los Angeles. While she has always been an avid traveller, 2024 has seen Jolie spend a considerable amount of time in New York City due to her involvement in producing The Outsiders on Broadway. According to OK! Magazine, Jolie plans to leave Los Angeles as soon as her children, Maddox (23), Pax (20), Zahara (19), Shiloh (18), and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, are all adults. The reports mention that the actress has always felt happiest “when she and the children travelled”, experiencing different cultures, learning from local tutors, and embracing new ways of life. This lifestyle has always been a key part of their family dynamic. Once her children are all grown, Jolie is expected to return to her solitary ways, with the ease of having friends in Europe making travel easier for her.

Port of Los Angeles sees sustained import surge ahead of tariffs
tariff increases and seek to avoid labor-related disruptions at alternate ports. “The Port of Los Angeles handled a robust 905,000 container units in October,” Executive Director Gene Seroka told reporters on Wednesday. That’s a 25% gain over last year and is the first time the port handled more than 900,000 containers for four months in a row. “Los Angeles processed more cargo between July and October than we did during our peak year in 2021 or our second-best year in 2022,” Seroka said.

Is The Washington Post, Los Angeles Times and USA Today's non-endorsements a stamp of approval for Trump? Here's what the ex-President is claiming
Former US President Donald Trump has eventually interpreted the non-endorsements from major newspapers which includes The Washington Post, USA Today and Los Angeles Times as a tacit endorsement of his Presidential campaign. According to CNN, Donald Trump asserted that the decision of not endorsing any Presidential candidate eventually reveals that these publications believe US Vice President Kamala Harris is totally unfit for office. CNN reported that this sudden non endorsement marks a pretty significant departure from tradition because if history is being traced, both The Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times have always endorsed Democratic candidates. The leadership of all these prominent newspapers has eventually asserted that their decision to abstain from all kind of endorsements actually aims to rebuild the trust of the reader and combat perceptions related to media bias.
