MUMBAI : India hasn’t yet produced a social media giant, yet investors continue to pump in money. The hope now lies in Indian startups’ ability to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to build a bumper app. Since the beginning of this year, five startups with AI-driven social products have received cumulative funding of $27.8 million in seed and Series A rounds in addition to one undisclosed round, according to data from research platform Tracxn.

Veteran producer Gangu Ramsay, who worked on horror classics like 'Purana Mandir', passes away at 83
Ramsay Brothers’ films were stuff straight from nightmares for several generations! Today these movies may appear outdated, over-the-top, and slightly kitsch, but over the years, these movies have attained cult status. Gangu Ramsay, one of the seven Ramsay Brothers, the pioneers of the horror genre in India, breathed his last on Sunday. He was 83. The veteran cinematographer-director, who was associated with several horror classics such as ‘Purani Haveli’, ‘Tekhana’ etc, was admitted to the Kokilaben Hospital, Mumbai after he complained of some health issues. “With profound sadness, we announce the passing of one of the Ramsay Brothers, the legendary cinematographer, filmmaker, producer, and the second eldest son of F.U. Ramsay, Gangu Ramsay. He departed from us early this morning at 8 am, at the age of 83, after battling health issues for the past month. He was admitted to Kokilaben Hospital," the family said in a statement.” His last rites took place at the Oshiwara Crematorium at 2:00 pm.

Adani Green's Khavda power plant world's largest, five times the size of Paris
The area of project in Khavda is five times the size of Paris and almost as large as Mumbai. The project was started in December 2022 and the first production was made on December 31, 2023. Adani Green Energy Limited will invest about Rs 1.5 lakh crore and Adani group will invest about Rs 2.3 lakh crore in renewable energy and manufacturing capacity by 2030. The project at Khavda is Hybrid renewable energy cluster where during the morning hours, solar energy is generated and during the evening hours wind generation is generated. It has operationalised capacity of 2,000 MW solar energy.

Jio Financial at lower circuit for third day
MUMBAI : Sellers made a beeline for the Jio Financial Services Ltd (JFSL) counter, dragging down the stock to the lower circuit for a third straight day. ED attaches assets worth Rs 36.66 crore in bank fraud case linked to Wadhawans
Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has attached assets worth Rs 36.66 crore of Veena Developers in a bank fraud case belonging to the accused, Rakesh Wadhawan and Sarang Wadhawan, under provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the agency said in a statement on Saturday. The bank fraud case involves Rakesh Wadhawan and Sarang Wadhawan, who are the promoters of Housing Development Infrastructure Ltd. (HDIL), along with other individuals associated with Mack Star Marketing Private Limited. The attached assets are in the form of commercial properties consisting of two office units measuring approximately 22,366 square feet in the Kaledonia building in Andheri (East) in Mumbai and shops situated in Veena Velocity Phase II, Diwanman in Maharashtra's Palghar.
