Zomato cofounder and chief executive Deepinder Goyal on Monday said the company’s quick-commerce platform Blinkit will be bigger than its mainstay business of food-delivery in a year’s time. Goyal was speaking at the goverment of India-organised Startup Mahakumbh, a three-day event where startup founders will convene to discuss how policy formations can help boost India's global ranking in innovation. The food-delivery major has big plans to take Blinkit beyond grocery delivery into the territory of ecommerce. ET had reported on March 4 that the Zomato’s Blinkit and Mumbai-based Zepto are adding categories such as electronics, fashion and home appliances as they start looking like mainstream ecommerce sites.
