Ambuja Cements, ACC, Dalmia Bharat Q4 earnings performances have remained a mixed bag. While some met expectations and few as UltraTech and even ACC performance came ahead of expectations, Dalmia Bharat and Ambuja Cements Q4 performance remined below expectations on weaker than expected realizations.

Coal India Share price gained 4% during intraday trades on Friday post Q4 results posted by the company after the market hours on Thursday. Coal India had reported consolidated net profit at ₹8,640.5 crore for the quarter ending March, which grew 25.8 percent YoY. The same came better than the consensus analyst estimate of ₹6,826 crores.

Domestic benchmark index NSE Nifty fell 43.46 points to 22604.75, while the BSE Sensex traded 280.67 points down at 74330.44.

Coal India Q4 Results: Coal India (CIL) announced its January-March quarter results for fiscal 2023-24 (FY24) on Thursday, May 2, reporting a rise of 26 per cent to ₹8,640.5 crore, compared to ₹6,869.5 crore in the corresponding period last year. The increase in profit was attributed to cost efficiency and benefits from changes in accounting for stripping activities for open-cast mining.

Revenue from operations during the January-March 2024 period declined 2% year-on-year to Rs 37,410 crore. The same stood at Rs 38,152 crore in the corresponding period of last year.

Coal India has announced payment of a dividend of Rs 5 per share for the financial year ended 2023-24. The state miner on Thursday announced its March quarter earnings where it reported a 26% YoY growth in its consolidated net profit to Rs 8,682 crore.

JSW Energy, Jindal Power, Adani Power, Swan Energy, Vedanta, Coal India and NTPC are among 26 companies that have shown interest in acquiring debt-ridden 1,800 MW KSK Mahanadi power project. People aware of the development told ET that some funds have also shown interest in acquiring the plant, which is undergoing a fresh round of auction under the insolvency process. The National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) vacated the stay on the auction of the power project on April 5, paving the way for a fresh round of bidding. The total claim of lenders on the project is pegged at about Rs 32,000 crore. These companies have given 'expressions of interest', which were to be submitted by April 26 and the timeline to give a resolution plan by the interested parties is June 18, according to the timeline set by resolution professional Sumit Binani.
