Los Angeles Superior Court judge sentenced ‘That 70s Show’ show star Danny Masterson to 30 years to life in prison on Thursday for raping two women and said that the Church of Scientology sought to protect the actor and intimidate them into silence. The 47-year-old actor and prominent Scientologist starred in the retro TV comedy for eight seasons until 2006. He was convicted in May in a second trial.

Danny Masterson, known for his roles in «That 70's Show» and «The Ranch,» has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after being found guilty of two out of three forcible rape charges earlier this year. The actor, who maintains his innocence, faced a potential sentence of 30 years to life behind bars. Masterson was accused of raping three women at his Hollywood Hills residence between 2001 and 2003, coinciding with his time on «That 70's Show.» The jury convicted him of raping two women in 2003 but could not reach a verdict on an allegation from November 2001 involving a former girlfriend, despite jurors leaning towards conviction. During the sentencing, the three victims described the profound impact of Masterson's actions on their lives, with one labeling him «a true coward and heartless monster.» Another victim revealed the lasting trauma, stating, «Every time I think I’m okay, that rape comes back to me.» The third victim disclosed her diagnosis of PTSD. Masterson, appearing in a suit with a full-grown beard and slicked-back hair, remained silent during his sentencing. Several members of Masterson's family, including his wife Bijou Phillips and siblings Alanna Masterson, Christopher Masterson, and Jordan Masterson, were present in the courtroom, visibly emotional. Judge Charlaine Olmedo addressed Masterson, stating, «Mr.
