The truce was brokered by the United States, Qatar, and Egypt.

Hamas delays hostage release, demands aid to northern Gaza
Hamas' al-Qassam Brigades said the hostage releases would be delayed if Israel did not adhere to the agreed terms for the release of Palestinian prisoners. There was no immediate Israeli response to the statement. Earlier an Israeli military spokesperson had told France's BFM television station that, barring last minute changes, 13 Israeli hostages were expected to be freed. He said 39 Palestinian prisoners would be released in return. Under the truce deal between Israel and Hamas, mediated by Qatar, a total of 50 hostages are to be exchanged for 150 Palestinian prisoners, some of them convicted on weapon charges and violent offences, over four days. In the first exchange on Friday, 13 Israeli women and children — out of around 240 hostages captured by Hamas fighters on a killing spree in southern Israel on Oct.

The Crown: Queen’s former press secretary criticizes creators for lacking sensitivity
the Crown for being too insensitive in its portrayal of the events surrounding Princess Diana's murder. Dickie Arbiter, a former advisor to Queen Elizabeth II during the time period depicted in Season 6, accused The Crown's writer Peter Morgan of ‘dramatic license gone bonkers.’ Arbiter was particularly scathing of sequences in which Prince Charles (Dominic West) informs Diana's sons, Princes William and Harry, of her death. In the last season, Elizabeth Debicki plays Diana. «The sequence in which Charles informed his sons of their mother's death was insensitive and unnecessary,» he told Deadline.

US official tells AP an Israeli-owned ship was targeted in suspected Iranian attack in Indian Ocean
A container ship owned by an Israeli billionaire came under attack by a suspected Iranian drone in the Indian Ocean as Israel wages war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip, an American defense official said Saturday. The attack Friday on the CMA CGM Symi comes as global shipping increasingly finds itself targeted in the weekslong war that threatens to become a wider regional conflict — even as a truce has halted fighting and Hamas exchanges hostages for Palestinian prisoners held by Israel. The defense official, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity to discuss intelligence matters, said the Malta-flagged vessel was suspected to have been targeted by a triangle-shaped, bomb-carrying Shahed-136 drone while in international waters. The drone exploded, causing damage to the ship but not injuring any of its crew.“We continue to monitor the situation closely,” the official said.

Lessons from the ascent of the United Arab Emirates
how to thrive in the multipolar age. The country is home to just over 0.1% of the world’s people and produces only 0.5% of its GDP, but it contains nearly 10% of the world’s oil reserves, and this wealth helps it punch above its weight. Like many emerging countries today, it straddles political and economic divisions.

Who is Raphael Varane? French Manchester United defender linked with move away from club after “broken” relationship with manager Erik Ten Hag
Raphael Varane, the 30-year-old veteran French central defender who also plays for English Premier League football club Manchester United is looking for a move away from the club, as his relationship with Erik Ten Hag, the current club manager, has been reported to be “practically broken down.” Signs of their relationship being under pressure could be understood when Ten Hag hinted that Varane had to fight for his place in the team as his defensive compatriot Harry McGuire has been performing well on the pitch. Ten Hag said on Thursday, McGuire “took his chance” when Varane was “absent” due to his injury. He also added that such “internal competition” is a normality in clubs which have a big stature like Manchester United. Furthermore, he stated that players have to “seize” their chance when it comes and other players have to fight for their place in the starting 11. According to reports, Varane’s relationship with Ten Hag broke down after this interview took place.
