Germany stops planned sale of Volkswagen's gas turbine business to China
Volkswagen unit MAN Energy Solutions' gas turbine business to a Chinese company on Wednesday, with ministers citing security reasons. The decision comes amid rising trade tensions between the EU and China. Germany's economy ministry can review and stop transactions deemed to have national security implications, and Berlin and the EU are trying to reduce risks from economic ties with Beijing. The planned sale of the German business to Chinese state-owned CSIC Longjiang GH Gas Turbine Co (GHGT) was announced in June 2023 at an undisclosed price, but MAN Energy Solutions said in September the government would take a close look.

US military bases in Europe on high alert amid terror threat concerns
US military bases across Europe have raised their security alert levels to Force Protection Condition (FPCON) «Charlie,» signaling a heightened threat of terrorist action. This move, the second highest alert level in the US Army's system, was implemented over the weekend, as confirmed by two US officials. Heightened Security Measures The US European Command (USEUCOM) announced that they are constantly evaluating security factors. Although specific details were withheld for operational security, USEUCOM assured that they are maintaining vigilance. A US official stationed at a European base noted that this threat level hasn't been seen «in at least 10 years» and typically signifies an «active-reliable threat.»

Kahneman left this world, leaving behind his legacy of insights – that can make you a better investor!
“During World War II, a Jewish child feared being caught out past curfew by a German soldier. Instead, the soldier showed unexpected kindness, giving the child a hug, showing a photo of a kid, and offering him some money. This encounter taught this child that people are complex and interesting” This child was none other than Kahneman, whose fascination with human behaviour and psychology was sparked by his own experiences. Almost anyone who has ever heard the word ‘behavioural finance or economics’ might have heard about or read about ‘Daniel Kahneman’, the famous Nobel prize winner for his stupendous work in the space of uncovering cognitive biases of humans among financial decision making.
