Amitabh Bachchan has purchased three more office properties spread across three floors in a commercial project in Oshiwara locality of Mumbai’s western suburb Andheri for nearly Rs 60 crore. The actor already owns four offices totalling over 12,000 sq ft built up and 10,800 sq ft carpet area in the same commercial tower. ET had reported in September that these offices spanning an entire floor were bought and leased to music entertainment company Warner Music India through a long-term agreement for a total tenure of five years. The new office space spread over 8,429 sq ft carpet area is on the 27th, 28th, and 29th floor of the ready to move commercial tower. As part of the deal, the buyer will also get exclusive access to three car parking slots in the building.

external debt was placed at $663.8 billion, an increase of US$ 39.7 billion over its level at end-March 2023, informed the Reserve Bank of India on Tuesday. If the valuation effect were excluded, external debt would have increased by $48.4 billion instead of $ 39.7 billion. Despite the rise, the country's external debt to GDP ratio declined to 18.7 per cent at end-March 2024 from 19 per cent at the end of March 2023. The ratio comprises both government and non-government Debt. As per the data provided by the central bank, the government's external debt stood at 4.2 per cent of GDP while the non-government sector's external debt was placed at 14.5 per cent. «US dollar-denominated debt remained the largest component of India’s external debt, with a share of 53.8 per cent at end-March 2024, followed by debt denominated in the Indian rupee (31.5 per cent), yen (5.8 per cent), SDR (5.4 per cent), and euro (2.8 per cent),» said country's central bank in the statement.

BENGALURU:The Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA) has sought a review of the Competition Commission of India's (CCI's) definition of control over companies by private equity (PE) funds in a meeting with the Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman ahead of the Budget 2024-25.“When PE funds invest in companies, they have some rights to protect themselves that can be viewed as a control position. So, the question was if there can be an exemption for PE funds," Srini Sriniwasan, vice-chairperson of the industry body for alternative assests, told Mint in an interview on Tuesday.Besides, the IVCA discussed measures to boost domestic capital in alternative investment funds (AIFs) to finance infrastructure, credit, startups and growth companies in the pre-budget consultation meeting on 20 June.The finance minister is expected to present the budget by July end.Sriniwasan, who is also the managing director of Kotak Alternate Asset Managers Ltd, asked for more clarity on the definition of what constitutes a PE investor.
