Jefferies' Global Head of Equity Strategy Chris Wood has added GMR Airports Infrastructure to his India long-only portfolio while reducing stakes in ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank and Axis Bank. «An investment in GMR Airports Infrastructure will be introduced in the India long-only portfolio with a 4% weighting. This will be paid for by reducing the investments in ICICI Bank and HDFC Bank by one percentage point each and by shaving the investment in Axis Bank by two percentage points,» Wood wrote in his GREED & fear newsletter.

Arvind Kejriwal's aide Bibhav Kumar in the case against him for allegedly assaulting AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal. The maximum temperature on Thursday recorded at the Safdarjung Observatory, considered the official marker of the city, was 4.9 notches above normal at 44.8 degrees Celsius. The Najafgarh weather station recorded a maximum temperature of 45.1 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

Penna Cement will increase Ambuja Cements' presence in India, particularly in South India, besides making way to markets in neighbouring Sri Lanka, the cement company said in a presentation explaining the rationale behind the acquisition. On Thursday, Ambuja Cements announced that it has decided to acquire 100 per cent shares of Penna Cement Industries Limited. Penna Cement to now become wholly owned subsidiary of Ambuja Cements. The transaction has an enterprise value of Rs 10,422 crore. The cement maker said that the transaction would be fully funded through internal accruals.

Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd. traded 0.5 per cent up at Rs 2952.9 at 11:11AM (IST) on Friday, even as BSE benchmark Sensex gained 104.96 points to 76915.86. The scrip had closed at Rs 2938.1 in the previous session. The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 3068.95 and 52-week low of Rs 1625.0, respectively. Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) rallied 4% to the day’s high of Rs 708 in today’s session on BSE after the company announced that it has signed an MoU with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for exploring consultancy and O&M of Metro Rail Systems. “RITES Ltd., a premier transport infrastructure consultancy, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (DMRC) for collaboration in comprehensive operations and management projects of Metro Railway Systems, including Rolling Stock, Depot Management, Station Management, maintenance of Railway Infrastructure, etc. in India and abroad,” said the company filing to the exchanges.
