Attrition for MBA campus talent highest across degrees; employee turnover among campus hires drops in 2023 vs 2022, survey shows
Attrition rate among MBA graduates hired directly from campus was the highest across disciplines in 2023, reporting the highest one-year (40 per cent) and two-year (38 per cent) attrition rates, showed a survey by Deloitte. Infant attrition was the highest among Graduate in Management (BBA /BCom /others) degree holders with 33% of fresh hires leaving organisations in less than a year of joining, showed data shared exclusively with ET from Deloitte’s Campus Workforce Trends 2024 survey.

Heatwave Intensifies: IMD issues red alert across North India for next five days
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for parts of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh. Over the next five days, severe heatwave conditions are expected, with temperatures likely to exceed 47°C in several areas. Temperature Predictions and Regional Impact Senior IMD scientist Naresh Kumar reported, «Temperatures are currently above normal across North West India, and we had issued a red alert for the region over the past 2-3 days. The maximum temperature is likely to inch further up from 45°C and settle at 47°C in Rajasthan.» In Punjab and Haryana, temperatures will gradually increase by 2 to 3 degrees after a slight drop due to a western disturbance. Uttar Pradesh also faces a red alert for the next five days, and an orange alert is issued for northern Madhya Pradesh.

Lenders seek to claw back over ₹31,000 cr from bankrupt firms' dodgy deals
NEW DELHI : New Delhi: The administrators of insolvent companies have approached tribunals to reverse questionable pre-bankruptcy transactions of businesses worth over ₹31,000 crore from 131 cases in the March quarter in an effort to maximise the resources available for restructuring them, official data showed. With this, the number of such voidable transactions flagged before tribunals by debt resolution professionals has gone up to 1,237 at the end of March, estimated at ₹3.7 trillion, up from ₹3.39 trillion at the end of December, according to data from Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI), the rule maker for the sector.

India eyes ₹1 lakh crore bonanza from central bank, aiding budget
central bank is expected to pay up to ₹1 lakh crore ($12 billion) as dividend to the federal government, economists said, a move that would boost New Delhi’s coffers and help meet its budget deficit target. The Reserve Bank of India’s central bank of directors is expected to meet this week and is likely to approve a dividend ranging between 800 billion to one trillion rupees, according to economists’ estimates. That compares with a transfer of 874.2 billion rupees last year and the government’s own target of 1.02 trillion rupees, which includes dividends from state-controlled banks.
