Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday said grand temples would be built in Varanasi and Mathura and the Uniform Civil Code would be implemented if the NDA returns to power by winning over 400 Lok Sabha seats. He said the NDA, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will ensure that Pakistan occupied Kashmir, which is an integral part of India, returns to the country. Addressing election rallies in Muzaffarpur and Siwan Lok Sabha seats, Sarma said, «We will implement UCC, build a temple on Krishna Janmabhoomi premises in Mathura and establish Kashi Vishwanath temple in place of Gyanvapi Mosque in Varanasi, besides ensuring that PoK returns to India, after winning over 400 seats.» Hitting out at the Congress and its allies, Sarma said, «Rahul Gandhi and Lalu Prasad did not attend the consecration of Ram Mandir. They want to send Ram Lalla back to the tent. We must not let this happen.»

FSSAI warns traders, food businesses against use of calcium carbide for artificial fruit ripening during mango season
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a stern warning to traders, fruit handlers, and Food Business Operators (FBOs) involved in ripening fruits. The advisory specifically targets those using calcium carbide for artificial ripening, especially during the mango season. This practice is strictly prohibited. FSSAI has urged the Food Safety Departments of States and Union Territories to be vigilant and take stringent action against those violating these regulations. The authority emphasised that using calcium carbide, a hazardous chemical, poses significant health risks and contravenes the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, along with its associated rules and regulations. By enforcing these measures, FSSAI aims to ensure the safety and health of consumers while maintaining the integrity of the fruit market.

Virat Kohli opened up on two figures who helped him during his initial career and recalled the two «heartbreaks» he experienced during his peak of batting form back in 2016. Virat, representing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be in action against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday at Bengaluru. Speaking to JioCinema along with former cricketer Suresh Raina, Virat revealed that back in 2008 during the Emerging Players tournament in Australia, the then-chief selector Dilip Vengasarkar and Raina pushed his name for the national side. That tournament used to hold a lot of value back then since a lot of great talent would use that as a platform for getting a regular national spot. It was held from 2005-2011.

"Pakistan is roaming with begging bowl, enemies tremble due to our 'dhaakad' govt": PM Modi
Narendra Modi on Saturday said that enemies of the nation have to think 100 times before causing any harm as there is a dhaakad (powerful) government in the country. Referring to Pakistan, Prime Minister Modi at an election rally in Ambala said the neighbouring country, which used to trouble India for the past 70 years, is now roaming with a begging bowl in its hands due to the BJP's 'dhaakad' government at the Centre. «When there is a 'dhaakad' government in the country, enemies too think 100 times before doing anything. Pakistan had been troubling India for 70 years, it had bombs in its hands. Today it has 'bheekh ka katora' (begging bowl) in its hands.
