US Ambassador Garcetti dismisses concerns about democracy in India
Biden administration's top diplomat in New Delhi on Thursday dismissed concerns being raised in certain quarters about democracy in India and observed that in many ways Indians are better than the Americans. At an event organised here by the Council on Foreign Relations, a top American think-tank, US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti told the audience he was confident that «10 years from now India is going to be a vibrant democracy as it is today in terms of free and fair elections». «Again there's things that probably are worse and there's things that are better. They have a law, you can't go more than two kilometers to vote. So there''ll be one guy who lives in the mountains as a monk (at) someplace. They will walk for two days to bring the voting machine, execute the vote,» he said, responding to a question expressing concerns over the status of democracy in India.

Lower face value to enable more retail investors bond with the best corporates
capital markets regulator's decision to reduce the face value of listed bonds is likely to give a fillip to the corporate bond market by drawing in more retail investors, in keeping with the long-standing regulatory endeavour to deepen volumes and participation. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) last week decided to lower the face value of listed bonds to ₹10,000, from ₹1 lakh. The regulator had in 2022 reduced the face value of such securities to ₹1 lakh from ₹10 lakh.

VCs chasing Indian studios working on complex games
Indian studios working on complex games that require heavy investments — so far the sole domain of international publishers like Krafton and Garena — are seeing increased interest from investors, helped in part by fast-maturing consumer and talent cohorts. These studios are working on midcore and hardcore games, which generally have higher complexity compared to casual games like Ludo and require a higher level of involvement and time commitment from the player. In India, the most popular games in this genre — like Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI), FreeFire, Call of Duty and Fortnite — are all from international publishers such as Krafton, Garena, Riot Games and Epic Games. Such games are often rated AA or AAA, which signifies their high development and marketing values.

animals taking over our planet from humans who often consider themselves to be the most intelligent living being? This is the question that was posed to Chat-GPT. While many film industries have depicted a doomsday conspiracy involving the take over of our planet by different people, the latest being the ‘Kingdom of the Planet of Apes’, this is an interesting answer given by Chat-GPT. This has been reported by the Daily Star, UK. Incidentally, the movie is releasing on May 10. While Chat-GPT and its application has generated interest in the past with its unique answers, the answer to this question is definitely surprising.
