We can defeat Modi only through our unity: Tamil Nadu CM Stalin at INDIA bloc rally
Stalin on Sunday said it is only through unity that the opposition can defeat Prime Minister Narendra Modi and oust the «fascist» BJP to form a federal India. In his message at the INDIA bloc's rally here, he said the arrest of former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal shows the BJP's «growing desperation in the face of imminent defeat». His message was read out by DMK leader in Rajya Sabha Tiruchi Siva, who represented the party at the rally. Siva expressed hope that the national flag would be unfurled by the leaders of the INDIA bloc at the Red Fort on this year's Independence Day.

Think beyond manufacturing for more/better jobs
employment intensity of manufacturing is declining, and it will need to be buttressed by services, where India has an advantage over its East Asian neighbours. Services also have a bigger impact than manufacturing on reducing job market inequity such as gender, age and social bias.

Mumbai property market record performance spree continues in March
record-setting momentum, marking its second-best March performance ever, led by brisk sales activity and robust demand despite higher mortgage rates and escalating property prices. The significance of performance is underscored by its second-place ranking, closely following March 2021, when the market received substantial support through a halving of stamp duty rates, intended to bolster business activity in the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic. The country’s commercial capital has witnessed the registration of over 14,145 properties during the month, up 7.5% from a year ago. Revenue collection through stamp duty charges, however, declined 8.1% to Rs 1,125 crore, according to data from the inspector general of registration in Maharashtra.

The harder, the better: Why Indians have a distaste for soft-boiled eggs
soft-boiled egg, the ball is raised to the other end of the rod and released. It hits the mould with a force of 0.6867 Newtons, just enough to crack the eggshell so the top comes off cleanly and the contents can be dug out and eaten. Germans aren’t alone in their love for soft-boiled eggs; Singapore’s kopitiam (coffee-shop) style eggs are served with a dash of soy sauce and pepper. France has many recipes structured around oeufs mollets, most notably one which suspends them in savoury jelly. Scotch eggs envelop them with minced meat. Japanese ramen includes a soft-boiled egg whose creaminess subtly helps enrich the broth. Indians eat eggs scrambled with onions, tomatoes and coriander, or stir-fried with kheema. We hard boil and cook them in curries. We make them into omelettes, stuff them into rolls, or dunk them in gravy. We fry and serve them with cheese and chillies on toast in the newly-popular Eggs Kejriwal. We make bizarre variations (fried with Fanta!) that are condemned or celebrated on social media. What we don’t like is to just soft-boil them.

Message of Lord Ram's life is power not permanent, arrogance gets shattered: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to PM Modi
Narendra Modi, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra Sunday said she would like to tell him that the message of Lord Ram's life is that power is not permanent and arrogance gets shattered. In her remarks before reading out the INDIA bloc's demands at a rally at the Ramlila Maidan here, Priyanka Gandhi said, «I have been coming to the Ramlila Maidan since childhood. Every year Ravan's effigy is burnt.» «When I was a kid, I used to come (here) with my grandmother Indira Gandhi Ji. She used to narrate Ram's 'jeevan gaatha' to me. Those in power today call themselves Ram bhakts. When I was sitting here, I thought that I should say something to them in this context,» the Congress general secretary said. Priyanka Gandhi said she thinks that those in power today are besotted with showoff and she wants to remind them of the thousands of years old tale and its message.
